The Etiquette of E-mail

Who is the course for?

The objective of this session is to present some of the common problems that people often experience when using electronic mail. The etiquette of electronic mail is the convention governing the general use of e-mail.    In other words, it is a series of rules that if observed should ensure that electronic communication is professionally conducted.

What we expect you to gain:

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand what is meant by the etiquette of e-mail
  • Understand the elements of the basic communication process
  • Discover what is meant by the ‘plain of interpretation’
  • Appreciate the potential damage that a badly constructed e-mail can inflict
  • Learning about e-mail design, irrelevance, inappropriate subject matter and misinterpretation and flaming

Course content:

Via a series of exercises and discussions delegates will build a series of hints and tips.  These can be used in daily e-mail communication with colleagues and students.
