Active Listening and Empathy Skills
Who is the course for?
This course has been specifically designed for any celebrant wanting to improve their listening abilities and empathic awareness skills. The course enables delegates to develop a self awareness of their ability to listen and be empathic in various celebrant interview scenarios.
What we expect you to gain:
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Define why listening and understanding empathy is important
- Define what is meant by active listening
- Appraise your own level of listening skills
- Explain why empathy is important in the role of ‘celebrant’
- Understand how the tone of voice, pacing and other verbal cues impact on the interviewee's experience
- Develop an action plan to develop your listening and empathic skills
Course content:
This is a participative training course; involving discussion, individual self-assessments, practical exercises and role play in pairs and threes and in plenary.
